About The Position

CVS-Aetna is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join an Agile Product Team building high-quality, usable products for customers and stakeholders in Aetna’s Claims organization. The engineer will help educate business and technology personnel about agile development and create products from discovery and framing through iterative development and delivery. The role emphasizes a user-centered, business-priority approach and requires developing frontend and backend code using industry best practices to deliver efficient, optimized, user-friendly, reusable software.

Requirements

At least 5 years of software development experience in enterprise applications.
At least 5 years of full-stack development experience with Java-based technologies, including microservices, FAST API, and Spring Boot/REST.
At least 4 years of experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including developing applications on those platforms.
At least 3 years of experience with relational databases such as AWS RDS or AWS Aurora, and exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience building CI/CD deployment pipelines in GitHub Actions.
Ability to develop effective engineering practices and processes for design and development.
At least 3 years of experience with Agile development practices.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; equivalent experience is described as a high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience building software applications for high-volume enterprise ecosystems.
Experience with cloud-platform-based development and cloud-native services, preferably in AWS.
