About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Software Developer to lead software development projects from requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance. The role involves designing and developing full-stack software solutions, modernizing and migrating legacy applications to the cloud, building CI/CD pipelines, and supporting secure communications systems in compliance with operational and security standards. The developer will monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system operations; reverse engineer legacy codebases; produce technical documentation and UML models; and research and recommend enhancements to systems and architectures. The role also includes communicating with clients about project activities and deliverables, and facilitating process working groups to analyze existing processes and develop business strategies. The position requires a TS/SCI with Poly clearance and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Requirements

Over 8 years of hands-on software development experience; the posting also specifies a minimum of 10 years of experience.
TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience with EKS/Kubernetes or other container orchestration software.
Hands-on experience with secure systems engineering, systems integration, and reverse engineering.
Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages or technologies: Python, NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, C#, and SQL.
Experience with cloud technologies.
Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Splunk, and diagramming applications.
Strong debugging, performance optimization, and DevOps skills.
Background in on-call support and operational monitoring of critical systems.

Responsibilities

Lead software development projects from requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance.
Design and develop software solutions using technologies such as Python, NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, C#, SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server, and Linux.
Migrate existing systems to the cloud and establish CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance system operations using tools such as Splunk and Grafana/Prometheus.
Use Jira and Confluence for agile management.
Produce technical documentation, including system designs, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and operational procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reverse engineer legacy codebases and produce UML models.
Support secure communications systems while ensuring compliance with operational and security standards.
Research, prototype, and recommend improvements to existing systems and architectures.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software, performance, and infrastructure issues.
Research and adopt emerging technologies to improve system efficiency.
Communicate with clients about project-specific activities and manage project deliverables.
Facilitate process working groups to analyze existing processes and create new business strategies.
Fulfill applicable safety training and self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participate in emergency response tasks, and serve on safety committees and teams as appropriate.
