About The Position

Amentum is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to lead software development from requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance. The role focuses on full-stack software development, cloud technologies, database design, DevOps, and migrating and modernizing legacy applications. The developer will work with programming languages and platforms including Python, NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, C#, SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server, and Linux, and will support secure communications systems that meet operational and security standards. The position includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving system operations using tools such as Splunk and Grafana/Prometheus; establishing CI/CD pipelines; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to reverse engineer legacy code and develop UML models. The developer will produce technical documentation, including system designs, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and operational procedures; communicate with clients about project activities and deliverables; facilitate process working groups; and research, prototype, and recommend improvements and emerging technologies. Employees are also responsible for following Amentum safety, quality, operational, and environmental policies and procedures, completing applicable training, and contributing to a safe work environment. A TS/SCI with Poly clearance is required. Compensation is listed at $200,000–$220,000. The posting date is October 19, 2026, and the position is listed as open until filled.

Requirements

Over 8 years of hands-on software development experience; the posting also lists a minimum of 10 years of experience.
TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience with EKS/Kubernetes or other container orchestration software.
Hands-on experience with secure systems engineering, systems integration, and reverse engineering.
Proficiency in at least two of the following: Python, NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, C#, or SQL.
Experience with cloud technologies.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Splunk, and diagramming applications.
Strong debugging, performance optimization, and DevOps skills.
Background in on-call support and operational monitoring of critical systems.

Responsibilities
