About the position
Vidyard is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join their Growth Labs team. This role involves working on a cross-functional team to improve product growth, build acquisition and retention loops, and provide a more engaging experience for customers. The Senior Software Developer will provide technical leadership, iterate and experiment with improvements, and have a direct influence on important business metrics. The team focuses on A/B testing, validating hypotheses, and maintaining high standards of software quality and performance. This role also includes mentoring junior team members and contributing to the longer-term technical roadmap and product growth plans.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a small cross-functional team to improve customer engagement metrics
- Deliver experiments and A/B tests on Vidyard's website and across the product
- Maintain high standards of code quality while iterating quickly
- Scope and build larger cross-cutting technical projects to deliver value to customers
- Lead teammates in writing, testing, and deploying scalable, performant code
- Ship both front-end (Vue.js, React.js) and back-end (Node.js, Ruby on Rails) code and monitor its performance
- Leverage design systems and best practices for consistency
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Help shape the technical roadmap and inform product growth plans
- Improve standards of quality, reliability, and performance
- Embrace lean thinking and a metrics-driven mindset
- Tolerate ambiguity and take action for discovery
- Focus on customer experience and business metrics
- Mentor others on the team
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience shipping user-facing, scalable web products
- Ability to work across the software stack as a generalist, with in-depth experience in either front-end or back-end development
- History of success delivering on user growth initiatives in an agile, iterative environment
- Past experience working at a SaaS Product Led Growth company
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to drive improvements to standards of quality, reliability, and performance
- Lean thinking and an experimental, metrics-driven mindset
- High tolerance for ambiguity and willingness to take action
- Interest in customer experience and business metrics
- Experience mentoring others on the team
