About The Position

Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking a motivated Senior QA Developer for its ADPS Platform. This role is based at our Eaton Americas Innovation Center in Brossard (Québec) and offers hybrid work opportunities, as well as benefits from day one. As part of a multidisciplinary development team, the Senior QA Developer will participate in the testing of the software platform of the next generation of Eaton’s Advanced Distribution Planning System in the field of analysis and modeling of electricity distribution networks and renewable energies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or related from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance.
  • Experience in distributed system and microservice testing.
  • Experience with Jira and GitHub, or similar software development tools.
  • Experience in Agile software development.
  • Fluency in English and French (working proficiency in both languages). Fluency in French and English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues, customers, and partners located inside and outside of Québec, as well as to understand technical documentation in the field of our industry.
  • Be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management, prioritization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP or OCI).
  • Experience with SQL, LINQ, and databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, or other RDBMS).
  • Experience with programming languages (Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)

Responsibilities

  • Review technical specifications and engineering requirements to develop detailed test plans and cases.
  • Design, maintain, and execute automated and manual tests to validate the functionality, performance, and security of software developed in .NET and C#.
  • Analyze results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Advocate for QA best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, including review of pull requests and providing constructive feedback.
  • Work with development and product teams to ensure all user stories and requirements are thoroughly tested and meet acceptance criteria.
  • Participate actively in SCRUM ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure quality is prioritized at every stage.
  • Assess and integrate modern testing tools and methodologies, including AI-driven solutions, to continually improve quality and productivity.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, results, and quality metrics.
