About The Position

The Web Development team is looking for an independent individual with solid experience in web software development to help evolve a widely used web application. We are looking for someone who is passionate about web technologies—both client-side and server-side—and who enjoys solving complex problems and contributing to the quality, stability, and continuous improvement of a product used daily by our customers. The team works closely with quality assurance throughout the development process to ensure a high level of quality. Depending on project needs, it also collaborates with the user experience team to deliver a consistent and effective user experience. During your first year at Genetec, you will also have the opportunity to take a course dedicated to reinforcing the fundamentals of programming with a renowned instructor. During this course, several hours of work per week will be set aside for coursework.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
Relevant experience in software development and/or web development
Ability to learn quickly and grasp complex problems
Interest in using modern development tools to improve productivity and the quality of work, including AI-powered tools
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators and customers)
Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming and software development best practices
Solid experience in development with C# and the .NET ecosystem
Good understanding of asynchronous programming, application performance, and the design of maintainable software
Experience with modern web technologies: TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML and CSS, Angular (or an equivalent framework), Client-side state management (NgXS, NgRx, or equivalent), Modern web development tools (npm/yarn, esbuild/vite, or equivalent), REST API, WebSockets
Experience with Git and working in a collaborative development environment
Ability to effectively diagnose and resolve complex issues in an existing application
Experience with automated testing and practices that promote software quality
Ability to navigate a mature codebase and contribute to its continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

Experience with Azure DevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Knowledge of PowerShell or other automation tools
Understanding of networking concepts and communication between distributed applications
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure
Experience with AI-assisted software development tools (Copilot, Claude Code, Codex)

Responsibilities

Participate in daily meetings with the development and quality assurance teams
Develop and maintain web application features using C#/ASP.NET Core and TypeScript/Angular
Diagnose and fix bugs to ensure the stability and quality of the product
Analyze and resolve production issues in collaboration with the various support teams
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the application’s architecture, maintainability, and performance
Write and maintain automated tests to ensure the quality of releases
Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the team’s practices, processes, and tools
Demonstrate autonomy in analyzing complex problems and proposing sustainable solutions
