About The Position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Senior Software Automated Tester to support United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) and Combat Forces Command (CFC) Defensive Cyber Operations. The role involves designing, building, and executing automated test solutions for cybersecurity applications in a mission-focused defense environment. This position collaborates closely with development and security teams to enhance software quality, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance within an Agile/SAFe delivery model.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Python or another structured language (Java or C#).
  • Working knowledge of GitLab or another code repository.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, including unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
  • Experience analyzing test results, identifying defects, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work with developers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Must obtain SAFe for Teams, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer, Agile Technical Tester, and Implementing Test Process Improvement certifications within 12 months of start date.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience testing cybersecurity or DoD applications.
  • Experience with penetration testing or vulnerability assessment activities in support of development teams.
  • Existing SAFe, ISTQB, or related testing certifications.
  • Top Secret with SCI eligibility highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for cybersecurity applications.
  • Execute automated functional, regression, integration, and system tests.
  • Perform compliance testing and document results in accordance with program and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, security engineers, and stakeholders to identify defects, reproduce issues, and verify fixes.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and report findings using Jira and Confluence.
  • Contribute to test process improvement within Scrum ceremonies and SAFe practices.
  • Use Selenium, TASER, GitLab (or equivalent source control), and related tooling to support continuous testing.
