Automation tester
About The Position
This role is for an Automation tester with a duration of 12 months, located in Sant Fe, NM 87501. The position requires significant experience in various testing activities and a strong understanding of the system development lifecycle. The tester will be responsible for developing testing strategies, creating test plans and cases, and driving quality assurance processes. Experience with test automation, particularly with Selenium frameworks and scripting languages like Java, is essential. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like the Atlassian Suite is also expected. Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices is considered a significant asset.
Requirements
- At least 3-6 years of performing Testing activities
- At least 1-3 years of experience with developing the testing strategy for large scale programs
- At least 1-3 years of experience developing test plans, test scenarios, test cases, execution of test case and documentation of test results
- At least 2 years of experience with driving the quality assurance processes and gaining delivery buy-in from stakeholders
- At least 3 years of experience in test automation including development and maintenance of automation scripts and Selenium frameworks or other similar Automation/SOA testing tools
- Understanding of various testing approaches, including Grey-box (logic drive), black-box (requirements driven), load testing, coverage testing and regression testing
- Direct experience with or exposure to testing in an Agile delivery model
- Selenium Experience in scripting using Java
- Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence/X-ray)
- Exposure DevOps, CI/CD – such as Jenkins
Nice To Haves
- Tester with combination of public sector domain (preferably eligibility related), performance & Automation expertise is a big asset for consideration.
Responsibilities
- Performing Testing activities, including experience with all phases of testing: System, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance and Performance Testing
- Developing the testing strategy for large scale programs
- Ensuring requirements traceability throughout the system development lifecycle
- Developing test plans, test scenarios, test cases
- Execution of test cases and documentation of test results
- Driving the quality assurance processes
- Gaining delivery buy-in from stakeholders
- Test automation including development and maintenance of automation scripts and Selenium frameworks or other similar Automation/SOA testing tools
- Work with Scrum master SMEs, Test leads, Developers to understand design requirements and convert them to deliver as Test cases
- Author and Execute manual Test cases
- Script automated test cases using java/python
