About The Position

The Senior SME, Fleet Turnarounds is responsible for the overall performance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of the fleet-wide turnaround process. This role provides strategic leadership and oversight to the designated outage teams, mentoring and guiding them through the planning and execution of each turnaround to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes aligned with the Outage Manager’s requirements. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning capability, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-impact turnaround outcomes across the organization.

Requirements

10+ years Project Management experience, with 5+ Turnaround experience.
5+ year on-site Power Generating Plant experience, preferably in maintenance.
Experience preparing and obtaining approval for large multi-year budgets and subsequent execution.
Technical experience and understanding of all turnaround planning and execution systems and processes.
Excellent in root cause analysis and problem resolution skills.
Significant experience with RFQ, sourcing, and contract negotiations.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage and mentor resources that are not direct reports.
Highly self-motivated, with demonstrated ability to deliver on challenging goals.
Ability to work in fast-paced, energetic environment with tight deadlines.
Physical mobility and ability to use PPE required.
Legally eligible to work in United States of America.

Nice To Haves

B.Sc. Engineering, with P.Eng. designation OR College/University level management/business degree.

Responsibilities

Leading the end-to-end turnaround process across the fleet, driving consistency, standardization, and best practices.
Providing technical expertise and operational support to Asset teams to optimize scope development, risk management, scheduling, and execution performance.
Integrating Capital and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects into turnaround planning and execution to ensure seamless coordination, cost control, and schedule adherence.
Developing, maintaining, and reviewing Asset long-term plans to ensure competitiveness, strategic alignment, and accuracy of scope, cost forecasts, and execution strategies.
Establishing performance metrics, monitoring turnaround results, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, reliability, and financial performance.
Identify and mentor the immediate and extended turnaround team for deliverables and responsibilities.
Identify and implement continuous improvement, best practices, initiatives in Turnaround process and execution.
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with contractors providing services.
