About The Position

Five9 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design, implement, and support Software Defined Storage (SDS) and Kubernetes platforms in a private cloud environment. The role focuses on scalability, resilience, automation, and performance using Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps practices. It requires expert-level understanding of Software Defined Storage and Kubernetes, along with extensive working knowledge of Linux operating systems. The engineer will collaborate with platform and SRE teams to maintain secure, performant, multi-tenant-isolated services for high-throughput, mission-critical applications. The position involves designing, implementing, and operating storage architectures and platforms across private and public cloud regions, and building self-service storage workflows for Kubernetes CSI and OpenStack consumers. The engineer will use automation, CI/CD, observability, and auto-remediation to improve infrastructure reliability, and will contribute to high availability, disaster recovery, and scale-out infrastructure. The role also includes troubleshooting across storage, Kubernetes, hypervisors, networking, and Linux systems, participating in on-call rotations and incident response, and collaborating globally on change management, documentation, and operational practices. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in Five9’s San Ramon office. The US base salary range is $90,700–$252,200. Compensation may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
