Senior Scientist, Chemical Development

Nurix•Brisbane, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

The Senior Scientist, Chemical Development will own chemical development activities across Nurix’s portfolio, including process development and manufacture of regulatory starting materials (RSMs) and support for production of drug substance (DS) for clinical trial materials, with a focus on early development. The role includes route scouting for pre-clinical and clinical candidates and developing robust, scalable processes to support initial scale-up for animal studies. The scientist will spend up to 50% of their time in the lab supporting early route scouting and discovery scale-up toward CMC transition. They will author technology-transfer documents and work with CROs and CDMOs to reproduce chemistry efficiently across sites. The role also supports RSM and DS manufacturing and candidate-compound scale-up at CRO/CDMO sites, phase-appropriate process characterization, identification of critical quality attributes, and implementation of controls to ensure regulatory compliance and consistent DS quality. The scientist will prepare or review CMC sections of regulatory submissions and may travel up to 10% of the time. This is an onsite position in Brisbane, California, in a small, entrepreneurial environment with broad responsibilities. Nurix Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing targeted protein degradation medicines for cancer and inflammatory diseases.
