About The Position

As a Senior Scientist on the Biophysics team, you will design and execute advanced protein biochemistry experiments to characterize vaccine antigen candidates. Your work will support antigen selection through epitope mapping, conformational analysis, and thermostability measurements, contributing to rational vaccine design. You will interpret complex experimental datasets and communicate insights that inform antigen generation and selection pipelines. You will partner with design, structural biology, immunology, and antibody teams to advance vaccine candidates toward the clinic. The role also includes supporting site-specific projects, helping maintain lab facilities and equipment, evaluating scientific literature, and contributing to SOPs and other required documentation.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant postdoctoral research experience, preferably in protein production or characterization, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with advanced analytical tools such as HPLC, SEC-MALS, DSF, DSC, BLI, and SPR.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-oriented and data-driven approach.
  • Experience working in fast-moving, agile environments while maintaining a high degree of integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with protein purification and structural analysis, such as negative-stain EM.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute advanced protein biochemistry experiments to characterize vaccine antigen candidates and assess their antigenic surfaces, conformation, and stability.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of multiple projects to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex datasets accurately.
  • Support internal site-specific projects and deliver concise, compelling scientific presentations aligned with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with design, structural biology, immunology, and antibody discovery teams to integrate structural information with biochemical and biophysical data.
  • Demonstrate broad technical proficiency and creative problem-solving across a diverse range of experimental protocols.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and oversight of lab facilities and equipment to support a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Critically evaluate relevant literature to provide experimental and strategic input to senior team members.
  • Contribute to writing and maintaining SOPs and other required documents.

Benefits

  • Health and wellbeing benefits, including high-quality healthcare and prevention and wellness programs.
  • At least 14 weeks of gender-neutral parental leave.
  • A rewards package that recognizes employee contributions.
  • Opportunities for career growth, including promotion or lateral moves, domestically or internationally.
