Postdoctoral Researcher - Biophysics

Medical College of Wisconsin•Milwaukee, WI

About The Position

The Vasquez-Vivar Lab in the Department of Biophysics at the Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study fetal brain injury and mechanisms of acquired motor disorders in children. The lab uses redox biology, biochemical methods, and preclinical models to explore gain- and loss-of-function relationships and identify opportunities for therapeutic perinatal interventions. The position offers the opportunity to develop experimental approaches and lead research projects in a collaborative, well-resourced environment. The Department of Biophysics has strengths in redox and structural biology and biomedical imaging, including EPR, NMR, and clinical MRI. The successful candidate will perform molecular and biochemical analyses, cell-based studies, microscopy, and data interpretation; contribute to manuscripts, presentations, grants, and collaborative research; and mentor and train others in the lab.
