About The Position

Coherus Oncology is seeking a Senior Scientist, Bioinformatics to join the Translational Medicine team and support the analysis and interpretation of translational and clinical biomarker data from oncology clinical trials. This is a hands-on bioinformatics role for an industry-experienced scientist who enjoys working close to the data, biology, and clinical context. The Senior Scientist will execute rigorous, reproducible analyses and collaborate closely with translational scientists and other cross-functional partners to generate biologically meaningful insights that support clinical decision-making. Within a small, highly collaborative team, this role focuses on direct analytical contributions to active clinical programs and provides meaningful exposure to translational bioinformatics in a clinical-stage biotech environment.

Requirements

  • PhD with 1+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Statistics, Cancer Biology, Immunology or a related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in R/Python for data analysis, statistical modeling, and visualization.
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix computing environments.
  • Solid foundation in statistics and their application to biological and clinical datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently execute analyses with attention to rigor, reproducibility, and detail.
  • Knowledge of immunology and/or cancer biology or related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior industry bioinformatics experience, particularly in translational or clinical-stage research in cancer immunotherapy and related fields.
  • Experience working with NGS and biomarker assay data in an industry or clinical research setting.
  • Familiarity with using AI-assisted computational and analytical tools to support efficient coding, data analysis, visualization, and scientific communication.
  • Interest in and ability to engage deeply with the biological interpretation of analytical results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end analysis of translational and clinical biomarker data, including data preparation, quality control, statistical analysis, and biological interpretation.
  • Analyze high-dimensional clinical trial datasets (e.g., bulk/single cell/spacial RNA-seq, protein biomarker platforms such as MSD or Olink, and other translational assays).
  • Apply appropriate statistical methods with careful consideration of study design, analytical assumptions, and clinical relevance.
  • Execute reproducible, well-documented analytical workflows to ensure data quality, traceability, and analytical rigor.
  • Collaborate closely with translational scientists and cross-functional partners to interpret results in biological and clinical context.
  • Coordinate with data providers and vendors as needed to support timely data transfer, documentation, and organization for ongoing clinical studies.
  • Prepare clear figures, tables, and presentation materials to communicate analytical findings and support internal study discussions, scientific publications, regulatory documents and reports.
  • Work with Clinical, Biomarker, and Laboratory Operations teams, as well as external vendors, to support data transfer, organization, and documentation for ongoing trials.
  • Use version control and collaborative development practices to maintain analysis code and documentation.
