Computercraft is seeking a Bioinformatic Scientist to lead the SRA Bioinformatics team supporting the NIH Sequence Read Archive (SRA), the world’s largest publicly accessible repository for genomic sequencing data. For more than three decades, Computercraft has partnered with federal health and scientific agencies to deliver advanced information technology, data management, and scientific computing solutions that support critical research and public health initiatives. In this role, the successful candidate will join a collaborative team supporting the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine and will lead the development of new software, tools, and workflows that improve the Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuse (FAIR) of SRA data and enhance its impact on scientific research and public health. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside computational biologists and computer scientists on large-scale bioinformatics initiatives that directly support scientific discovery and the broader research community. The is a hybrid role with on-site work in Bethesda, MD.
