About The Position
AtScale is the semantic layer for modern data and AI. We bridge the gap between complex cloud data platforms—like Snowflake, Databricks, and Google BigQuery—and the business users who need consistent, AI-ready analytics. We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Scala / TypeScript) to help us redefine how the world handles business intelligence.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building, owning, and shipping production software end-to-end.
- Strong backend engineering skills with functional programming experience, specifically in Scala.
- Fluent across the stack, with demonstrated experience in TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Deep expertise in SQL along with a working understanding of relational databases and query behavior.
- Track record of mentoring engineers, raising the technical bar, and thriving in fast-paced environments with asynchronous, written communication.
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments where priorities can shift quickly.
- Value quality over speed and are curious about using AI to improve efficiency.
- Based in or able to work East Coast (ET) hours.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with semantic layers, OLAP, dimensional modeling, or shipping LLM/AI-backed features to production.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containerized deployments, or BI/cloud data tools like Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Tableau.
Responsibilities
- Take features end-to-end across the full stack—from backend Scala engine APIs down to TypeScript UI components—without handing off work.
- Leverage AI tools across the development lifecycle for code generation, review, testing, and investigation, maintaining full ownership and accountability for everything you ship.
- Mentor fellow engineers through code reviews, onboarding, and unblocking technical hurdles to continuously raise the team's engineering standards.
- Navigate incomplete requirements independently by resolving ambiguity, proposing clear technical approaches, and driving execution forward.
- Collaborate asynchronously via strong written communication across remote teams in the US, Latin America, and Europe.
