About The Position

This is a hands-on development position focused on designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting complex enterprise B2B eCommerce solutions using SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris). The role requires deep expertise in SAP Commerce Cloud, Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, headless commerce architecture, and enterprise application integrations. The developer will continue coding while providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and contributing to enterprise architecture decisions. The position also emphasizes AI-assisted software development, including using Claude AI or similar tools to automate development tasks, increase productivity, and streamline delivery. The role includes hands-on Java and Spring development, support for headless commerce using Spartacus, ReactJS, and OCC APIs, and work with complex B2B processes such as Configure-to-Order and Engineer-to-Order. It also owns or supports release cycles, Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production deployments. The developer collaborates with product and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable solutions, troubleshoot production issues, maintain technical documentation, and mentor backend developers. The position is a direct-hire, full-time role based 100% onsite in Richardson, Texas, Monday through Friday. Compensation is up to $150,000 annually, based on experience. It is explicitly a hands-on development role, not a purely architectural or managerial position; candidates must be actively performing SAP Commerce Cloud development and Java coding in their current or most recent position.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
8 or more years of relevant software development experience.
At least 5 years of hands-on SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) development experience.
Strong expertise in SAP Commerce architecture, customization, and development.
Deep proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring Framework, including Spring Core, MVC, Security, and Integration.
Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and enterprise commerce solutions.
Exposure to Configure-to-Order (CTO) and Engineer-to-Order (ETO) business processes.
Experience with headless commerce architecture using Spartacus (SAP Composable Storefront) or ReactJS.
Experience developing and integrating OCC (Omni Commerce Connect) APIs.
Experience developing complex technical solutions for mid-to-large-scale B2B SAP Commerce implementations.
Hands-on experience using Claude AI or similar AI-assisted development tools, including structured planning, autonomous subagents, and environment management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
Must be actively performing SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) development and Java coding in the current or most recent position.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and support enterprise-scale SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) applications.
Perform hands-on Java/Spring development, debugging, code optimization, and refactoring.
Develop end-to-end technical solutions within the SAP Commerce platform.
Design and support headless commerce architectures using Spartacus, ReactJS, and OCC APIs.
Support complex B2B commerce processes, including Configure-to-Order (CTO) and Engineer-to-Order (ETO).
Participate in enterprise-level technical design reviews and architecture discussions.
Lead technical code reviews to ensure development standards, security, and quality requirements are met.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, including memory leaks, thread dumps, backend performance problems, and application failures.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, integration guides, and API documentation.
Use Claude AI or similar AI-assisted development tools to improve application development efficiency.
Apply structured planning, autonomous subagents, and environment management within development workflows.
Create custom AI skills and automation solutions to reduce repetitive development tasks.
Document and share AI development workflows, standards, and reusable solutions.
Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, automation, technical governance, development processes, and enterprise commerce capabilities.
Own application release cycles, including deployment planning and coordination.
Lead or facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies and development activities.
Prepare change documentation and obtain necessary approvals for application deployments.
Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Oversee automated testing processes and support successful production deployments.
Mentor backend developers on Java/Spring development, SAP Commerce architecture, and coding best practices.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Solution Architects, developers, and other stakeholders.
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
Partner with product managers and designers to deliver effective user experiences.
Communicate technical solutions and project requirements to technical and nontechnical audiences.
