About The Position

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) relies on critical applications like CT-KIND and IV-E, Connecticut’s Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS). These applications, implemented in 1996 and used by over 2,000 social workers and case managers, have been continuously enhanced to meet evolving data capture and process functionality requirements driven by child welfare practices, as well as State and Federal legislation. The agency is committed to developing the next-generation Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) and has invested resources to ensure efficient and effective tools for Child Welfare Staff, Providers, and the children and families of CT. DCF Information Systems provides technology expertise, services, and infrastructure to the agency's approximately 3,300 employees, striving for continuous improvement in cost-effective and high-quality technology services.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of Salesforce development experience.
• Must know foundational OOP in Apex.
• Must be very organized, pro-active and self-directed.
• Must be a self-starter and driven.
• Must Drive the work from requirements to implementation.
• Must have very strong abstract thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Must have very good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Full stack development: Salesforce, OOP, CRUD, Design patterns, Configuration SOQL.
• Must have advanced knowledge of Salesforce development (OOP, Design Patterns).
• Experience with all phases of SDLC.
• 10 or more years of prior experience demonstrating the following knowledge and skills: Salesforce (min: 5 years).
• Must be able to code APEX OOP and know design patterns.
• .NET OOP and SOA
• SQL
• End-to-End Web Development

Nice To Haves

• JavaScript Frameworks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve in the capacity of a Developer participating in various SDLC processes including requirements verification, design and development, testing, maintenance, and support activities.
• Support existing custom Salesforce applications.
• Participate in the SDLC process of the new CT-KIND system.
• Work with the System Integrator to ensure the transfer of knowledge and on-going maintenance of the solution for a given module.
• Design and development Salesforce APEX, Lightning pages, Visual Force Pages.
• Perform Full stack development including Salesforce, OOP, CRUD, Design patterns, and SOQL.
• Provide analysis/requirements to integrate applications.
• Work on all phases of SDLC and create/maintain required technical documentation.
• Mentor less experienced staff.
