About The Position

The Senior Sales Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training and readiness programs for Medica's direct-to-consumer National Sales Team, supporting Medicare, Medicaid, and Individual & Family Business (IFB) products. This role serves as a strategic partner to sales leadership, ensuring representatives are informed, trained, and prepared to succeed in a highly regulated and rapidly evolving environment. The Senior Sales Trainer leads key initiatives including new employee onboarding, open enrollment readiness, ongoing professional development, and implementation of product, system, regulatory, and process updates. By assessing business needs and translating complex information into engaging learning experiences, this individual equips the sales team with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to deliver exceptional service to consumers and business partners. The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative professional who stays ahead of industry trends, monitors regulatory and product changes, and identifies opportunities to strengthen team performance. Acting as the connector between sales, operations, product, compliance, and other business partners, this person plays a critical role in keeping the team aligned, informed, and ready to sell. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • 5+ years of work experience beyond degree delivering sales training, facilitating new hire onboarding, or learning and development programs in a health care sales environment

  • Experience supporting direct-to-consumer sales teams, call center operations, broker support functions, or customer service organizations
  • Demonstrated experience developing and facilitating instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs
  • Experience leading training and readiness initiatives for Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), Open Enrollment Period (OEP), or other large-scale business launches

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve onboarding programs for Medica's National Sales team.
  • Lead onboarding for new employees across Inside Sales, Broker Experience, Sales Relationship Management, and other consumer sales and service functions.
  • Develop and deliver engaging learning experiences that accelerate time-to-proficiency and prepare employees to confidently serve consumers and business partners.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for new team members, providing guidance, coaching, and support throughout the onboarding journey.
  • Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to ensure onboarding programs align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and role expectations.
  • Evaluate onboarding effectiveness and implement enhancements based on learner feedback and business outcomes.
  • Lead training and readiness initiatives that prepare the team for Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)/Open Enrollment Period (OEP).
  • Monitor and communicate product, compliance, regulatory, system, process, and industry updates to ensure the team remains informed and prepared.
  • Translate complex information into clear, actionable training and communications that support sales and service excellence.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for training-related questions, helping employees navigate challenges and identify solutions.
  • Partner with the Sales Technology Trainer to support technology implementations, system enhancements, and adoption efforts.
  • Collaborate with Content Specialists and business partners to maintain training materials, job aids, knowledge resources, and readiness documentation.
  • Assess organizational readiness and proactively identify training opportunities that support business goals and performance outcomes.
  • Develop and implement programs that strengthen sales and service performance through ongoing learning, coaching, and development.
  • Identify best practices from top performers and incorporate their successes into training, coaching, and performance support resources.
  • Design and manage mentorship and peer-learning opportunities that foster collaboration, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Assess team knowledge, skill gaps, and development needs through observations, feedback, and performance data.
  • Create targeted learning solutions that deepen understanding of products, regulations, systems, consumer experience, and industry trends.
  • Continuously evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements that enhance individual and team performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning by encouraging curiosity, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
