Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant sales tax experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • A well-organized, proactive and detail-oriented individual able to self-manage and work in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of the CPA In-Depth GST/HST course is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review invoices and payments for sales tax compliance
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns for Canada (GST/HST, PST, QST) and the US
  • Assist members of the business with sales tax compliance questions
  • Assist with sales tax audits
  • Conduct technical sales tax research
  • Keep current with sales tax legislative and administrative changes and communicate any impact to the organization, for Canada and the US
  • Ensure internal processes surrounding tax compliance are adhered to
  • Assist with the month-end close and year-end audit processes
