About The Position

Grand Hotel is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our team as a Senior Sales Manager. This position is responsible for driving group room and banquet revenue within assigned Corporate and Association market segments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of luxury, destination, and/or experiential group sales, with the ability to articulate Grand Hotel’s distinctive value proposition, sell premium rates, and convert high-value opportunities while protecting rate integrity and profitability. Located on Mackinac Island, Michigan, Grand Hotel is one of America’s most iconic historic destination resorts. Since 1887, Grand Hotel has welcomed generations of guests to experience its distinctive combination of tradition, hospitality, history, and sense of sense of place. With a highly seasonal operating model and a premium group experience, selling Grand Hotel requires an understanding of both the value of the experience and the importance of strategically placing the right business at the right time and rate. The successful candidate will be a relationship-driven sales professional who can represent the Grand Hotel experience, build long-term partnerships, identify new opportunities, and drive profitable group revenue. This position is primarily remote, with travel to Mackinac Island approximately 5–7 times during Grand Hotel’s six-month operating season, or as business needs require. Additional travel is expected for industry trade shows, sales missions, networking events, and client appointments approximately 3–5 times per year, or as business needs require.

  • Experience developing new business as well as managing and growing existing accounts.

  • Ability to sell a premium product based on experience and value rather than price alone.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate opportunities based on rate, dates, room nights, banquet spend, and overall revenue potential.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with Revenue Management and other hotel disciplines to make strategic business decisions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and follow-up skills.
