Requirements

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive CPG sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Strong background calling on regional grocery accounts and distributors.
  • Deep category expertise required in Center Store, Perishables, Protein companies, and Front-End execution.
  • Proven experience managing direct reports and successfully leading a food broker network.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in sales reporting tools, syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI), and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the Southeast region (50–70%).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets across the Southeast territory.
  • Directly call on regional grocery accounts, key distributors, and chain customers to secure new business, grow existing accounts, and expand shelf presence.
  • Oversee and coach a team of direct reports while effectively managing and optimizing an extensive food broker network to maximize coverage and execution.
  • Drive sales growth in Center Store, Perishable, Protein, and Front-End categories through innovative programs, promotional planning, and strong category management.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer data to identify opportunities and develop actionable insights.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and promotional programs with accounts and distributors.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Category Management) to ensure alignment and successful execution.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, market visits, and trade shows to maintain strong relationships and visibility in the market.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, forecast accuracy, and key performance metrics.
