About The Position

Atlan is building the context layer for enterprise AI. Enterprises are pouring money into AI and most of it dies in production because the AI does not understand the business context around the data. That is the problem Atlan solves. Gartner has named context the defining issue in enterprise AI, and calls context graphs the essential infrastructure for AI agents, naming Atlan one of three vendors already building it. We are also the only vendor named a Leader across all four major Gartner and Forrester evaluations for data catalogs, data governance and metadata management, the foundation the context layer runs on. Requirements

• 5+ years of experience, including time in a customer-facing technical role (FDE, SE, Solutions Architect or founding engineer).
• A practitioner background, such as data science, ML or data engineering, so you’ve lived the problems our buyers have.
• Recent hands-on work with LLMs and agents, and an understanding of how agents retrieve data and use context.
• You’re a builder who wants to be in front of customers during the sales cycle, not just on long post-sales builds.
• High agency, comfort with ambiguity and good judgment on what’s worth building.

Nice To Haves

• Founding SE or FDE experience, or time at an early-stage AI or infrastructure startup selling into enterprise.
• Experience with vector databases, retrieval or semantic layers.
• A career that has crossed sides, for example data science at an enterprise and then a customer-facing role at an AI vendor.

Responsibilities

• The technical win on Atlan’s most strategic enterprise deals, partnering with Account Executives.
• Discovery across AI teams building agents, data platform teams and enterprise architects, often in the same deal.
• Solutions that prove something real in production, not just in the demo, including when the standard path is blocked.
• Hands-on building: POCs, demos, prototype agents and your own tooling. Managers here ask “what did you build this week?”
• Keeping pace as the category, the Agentic Development Lifecycle and our product change week to week.
