Senior Sales Engineer (Channels)

About The Position

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and ensure sales objectives for Eaton in Panama. This includes monitoring channel performance, selecting appropriate accounts and end-users to drive Eaton's growth in the market, and coordinating with vertical organizations (Strategic Accounts & Utilities/Infrastructure) for active participation in these segments. The role also involves leveraging marketing resources and programs designed for the country.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, or Electronic Engineering. Candidates from related fields may be considered only if they demonstrate strong, proven technical expertise in electrical solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, with a strong focus on execution within the electrical market in Panama.
  • Proven track record of achieving commercial targets, along with strong public relations and teamwork capabilities.
  • Intermediate level of English (oral and written); advanced level is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Solid experience developing and delivering technical-commercial presentations and proposals to customers, channel partners, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical solutions from Eaton or similar manufacturers, relevant to the markets served.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences effectively.
  • Knowledge of products and applications related to construction and/or critical power infrastructure (e.g., UPS, data centers, or similar environments).
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, channel dynamics, and technical applications of electrical products.
  • Self-driven, proactive professional with strong market awareness and competitive knowledge.

  • Experience using CRM tools such as Salesforce, SAP, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and lead the sales plan developed for Panama to achieve planned goals.
  • Implement customer visit plans defined by management to ensure increased business relationships with customers, identify new opportunities, and stay informed of competitor actions.
  • Deliver quarterly, monthly, and weekly booking forecasts to the CR&PA manager and Regional management based on market inputs to meet commitments and support other organizational processes.
  • Conduct weekly reviews with all involved areas of the organization regarding order plan progress for the month and quarter, as well as the pipeline of identified projects registered in Eaton’s CRM by the team.
  • Implement all required actions to ensure the Standard Margin defined for the market in the Profit Plan.
  • Stay aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities, communicating this information to top management and marketing.
  • Maintain a teaming, cooperative, and credible working relationship with other company personnel to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the allocated sales expense budget and maximize its use to grow the business, ensuring expense reports are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines, and use sound business judgment to enhance margins.
  • Support total quality efforts by providing timely and accurate information for order entry.
  • Escalate quality issues to management.
  • Ensure accurate information flows to and from customers.
  • Implement, along with the team, all marketing programs/initiatives (new product programs as needed, collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence data on competitive products, demand generation and promotions, as well as channels programs) to ensure continuous growth for Eaton in the market.
  • Provide necessary reports and surveys requested by management in a timely manner.
  • Comply with the responsibilities of the position in relation to MESH and EQS Management Systems.
  • Implement marketing programs/initiatives developed to grow in the Panama market.
  • Develop and support the necessary channel network (specialized distributors, panel builders, wholesalers, generalists, and service partners) to grow in focus markets.
  • Lead the implementation of the demand generation plan with end-users and channels to increase customer knowledge about Eaton’s solutions.
  • Lead and support key initiatives to grow in strategic segments defined by Eaton (Utilities, Data Centers, Infrastructure, Construction, Retailers, others).
  • Apply the One Eaton philosophy as a win strategy.
