About The Position

Nevell Group is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Safety Coordinator to lead and enhance our safety efforts across multiple job sites. Reporting directly to the Director of Safety, this role is key in driving a culture of safety excellence, mentoring junior safety personnel, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and corporate safety standards. As a Senior Safety Coordinator, you will take a hands-on approach in managing complex safety operations, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and implementing best-in-class safety practices that protect our workforce and support project success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills in field safety management.
  • Deep knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills across all levels of a project team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes construction environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CHST or other advanced safety certifications strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project safety coordination efforts across multiple sites.
  • Mentor junior safety team members and field staff on best safety practices.
  • Serve as a point of contact for executive leadership on field safety performance.
  • Conduct and develop safety training programs, including orientation, OSHA standards, and equipment use.
  • Lead specialized safety briefings and high-risk work trainings.
  • Perform advanced jobsite inspections and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate and enforce site-specific safety programs and JHAs.
  • Oversee safety for second-tier subcontractors, including vetting and compliance tracking.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Develop corrective action plans and monitor implementation.
  • Ensure proper and timely medical care and follow-up for injured employees.
  • Represent NGi with clients, general contractors, unions, insurance representatives, and government agencies.
  • Provide regular safety reports to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
  • Track safety trends and recommend continuous improvements based on data.
