About The Position

The Senior Product Safety & Compliance Engineer partners with global product developers and certification partners on regulatory compliance and product certification. The role leads multiple certification projects from product concept through mass production, ensuring market access requirements are met and product designs include appropriate risk-mitigation solutions. The position also supports product development teams as a subject matter expert, contributes to continuous-improvement initiatives, and provides leadership and mentoring to junior team members.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and/or governmental regulations.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with regularly shifting priorities and thrive under pressure.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to key details and project status.
Ability to present creative, technically sound solutions to complex problems.
Ability to analyze operations and promote continuous-improvement initiatives.
Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and generate ideas within the area of expertise.
Ability to make sound decisions using available information.
Ability to communicate complex technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical understanding.

Nice To Haves

At least 5 years of compliance- or design-related experience with consumer or commercial electromechanical products.
Experience participating in DFMEA sessions.

Responsibilities

Assist in owning execution of certification activities and risk analysis for multiple new product development projects.
Establish project needs and deliverables for product development teams and third-party regulatory partners.
Continuously evaluate project risk during development and establish contingency plans to overcome obstacles.
Lead weekly reviews for assigned projects and present project status and associated risks.
Ensure product certification activities commence and are executed as planned and on schedule.
Support product development teams as a subject matter expert, advising on requirements and regulations.
Assist in leading intradepartmental continuous-improvement and special projects.
Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
