About The Position

Virtual Service Operations is seeking a Senior RHEL Consultant to lead implementation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 environments based on established architectural designs. The role combines hands-on technical leadership and advisory work with senior IT and business stakeholders in a cleared, mission-focused environment. The consultant uses Linux and automation technologies, including Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Automation Platform, and is responsible for project scope, timelines, and documentation. The position requires working 100% onsite in Jessup, Maryland.

Requirements

• Active NSA-sponsored TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph and current green/blue badge capability for immediate crossover.
• IAT Level II certification, such as Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience leading modern cloud platform consulting engagements.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in at least two of the following: Linux system administration (preferably RHEL 8 or later), Red Hat Satellite, or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Experience delivering an implementation based on an architectural design.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a technical project, work with stakeholders on timelines, and maintain project and technical documentation.
• Experience serving in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large organizations.
• Hands-on experience with VMware and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• At least 3 years of professional experience.
• Willingness to work 100% onsite in Jessup, Maryland.
• U.S. citizenship, required pursuant to a government contract.

Responsibilities

• Deliver RHEL 9 implementations in accordance with approved architectural designs.
• Lead technical project execution, including setting and maintaining timelines with stakeholders.
• Deploy and manage RHEL systems using Red Hat Satellite.
• Automate configuration and operations with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Identify stakeholder needs and establish clear expectations for scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Advise senior IT and business leaders, including through executive-level briefings and presentations.
• Create and maintain project and technical documentation throughout engagements.
• Work across diverse technical teams and stakeholders in hybrid VMware and AWS environments.
