Senior RF Sensor Lead Engineer

RTX•Tucson, AZ
•$86,800 - $165,200•Onsite

About The Position

The Effector RF Design Department at Raytheon designs, develops, and supports advanced RF hardware—including seekers, sensors, antennas, transmitters, receivers, and exciters—for next-generation tactical missile systems. Its work spans the engineering development lifecycle, from concept development and requirements definition through design, qualification, testing, and transition to production. Raytheon is seeking a Senior RF Sensor Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for advanced technology missile programs. The role supports RF sensor supplier development and program alignment, coordinates technical reviews and hardware acceptance, and contributes to sensor integration, testing, and failure analysis. The engineer will collaborate with program leadership, functional management, suppliers, and customers, and mentor junior engineers. This is an onsite position in Tucson, Arizona, with regular supplier travel approximately once every one to two months. An active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required before starting; the posting also states that the ability to obtain an interim clearance is required before starting. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with electrical hardware development; experience with RF components such as antennas or circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and subsystems is preferred within this qualification.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers or subcontractors to develop complex hardware.
  • Demonstrated product or task ownership.
  • Experience interpreting engineering requirements and verifying hardware compliance.
  • An active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required before the start date; ability to obtain an interim U.S. government-issued clearance is also stated as required before the start date.
