About The Position

Raytheon is seeking an experienced Senior RF/Microwave Test Engineer to join its engineering characterization team in the RF Microelectronics/Module Development & Foundry Services (RFMicro) department in Andover, Massachusetts. The department develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications. The engineer will work with a multidisciplinary team to design test systems and perform on-wafer and fixtured testing of GaN and GaAs semiconductor devices and MMICs for radar, communications, and electronic warfare applications. The work supports both technologies in production and next-generation products in development. The role requires knowledge of RF/microwave electronics, network analysis using the Keysight PNA-X, and LabVIEW programming.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • At least 5 years of relevant RF/microwave/mm-wave test experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RF/microwave test equipment such as Performance Network Analyzers (PNAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), Spectrum Analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Noise Figure Analyzers, and Load-Pull systems.
  • Experience with GaAs and/or GaN MMIC devices.
  • Experience or coursework in RF/microwave engineering, microwave systems, analog or digital electronics, circuit design or analysis, or electrical components.
  • Experience with Python, LabVIEW, or Keysight ADS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave measurements on GaAs and GaN devices, modules, and MMICs.
  • Perform fixtured and on-wafer probe measurements.
