RF Test Engineer

AnySignal•Los Angeles, CA

About The Position

AnySignal is developing RF products and services for demanding space and defense missions. The RF Test Engineer will verify that RF hardware—from individual components to complete software-defined radios and signal chains—performs as designed. This hands-on role helps shape how the growing company builds and verifies its products. The engineer will own RF tests from planning through final data, including writing plans and procedures, building test setups, running tests, and interpreting results. The work combines bench hardware and code, using laboratory instruments such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and VNAs alongside automated test code.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in electrical or computer engineering from an accredited school.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience, including industry experience building, analyzing, and deploying RF test systems.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and vector network analyzers.
  • Deep, practical command of RF measurements such as linearity, NSD, and EVM.
  • Eligibility to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Python to control test equipment.
  • Working grasp of RF and mixed-signal parts such as amplifiers, filters, data converters, and antennas.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing, including vibration, thermal cycling, and thermal vacuum.
  • Familiarity with testing standards such as SMC-S-016 and MIL-STD-461G.

Responsibilities

  • Work with hardware design engineers to translate product requirements into test plans.
  • Run tests, record data, and share findings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Use laboratory equipment to support new hardware bring-up and perform root cause analyses on failing hardware.
  • Write Python code to contribute to the existing automated test framework.
  • Manage test equipment and ensure instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Own RF tests from planning and procedure writing through setup, execution, and analysis of results.
