Manages, oversees, and coordinates resource development activities, including site selection, land acquisitions, permitting, siting infrastructure, technology selection, conceptual design, and issuance of necessary agreements Conducts analysis of resource options, including emerging technologies. Supports implementation of contracted renewable and energy storage projects, including tracking development activities, assessing risks, and developing risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • For a Level 3 (Senior), a minimum of five years of related experience is required (if no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, issue, and manage competitive procurement processes to support development of new generation resources, including Requests for Proposals or engaging in strategic bilateral partnerships.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluation of generation resource and energy storage siting studies and options, including quantitative analysis and strategic project risk assessments.
  • Support implementation of resource projects and manage generation resource supplier relationships; track and report project development activities (permitting, interconnection, equipment procurement), assessing risks and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal technical engineering and operations teams to ensure successful resource implementations.
  • Engage in dispute resolution of complex issues with counterparties.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams on significant departmental and company initiatives and communicates results to various levels of SRP management and external stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains strategic alliances with power producers, renewable and energy storage developers, internal stakeholders, and industry leaders.
  • Perform economic, operational, and statistical analysis of new generation and demand-side resource options and emissions control alternatives, including emerging technologies.
  • Assess electric transmission requirements.
  • Perform strategic competitive market and business studies and analysis.
  • Develop answers to complex, open-ended questions involving significant uncertainty and ambiguity with meaningful economic and operational implications.
  • Conduct investigation and evaluation of future resource options to meet SRP's load requirements and achieve corporate strategic goals. These decisions have a direct and lasting impact on SRP's financial performance, reliability and achieving sustainability goals.
  • Present results of analysis and recommended courses of action to various internal and external stakeholders
