About The Position

To support the research initiatives of the University. This role involves evaluating, selecting, and applying standard scientific techniques and procedures, with the ability to adapt methods when necessary. The scientist will contribute to the scientific analysis and interpretation of projects, maintain detailed records of tests and data, and analyze results. Collaboration with lab staff for suggestions and data interpretation is expected. The position also includes presenting research and journal articles in meetings, presenting abstracts or oral presentations at campus and external conferences, and independently performing literature searches as directed by the Principal Investigator. Additionally, the role involves guiding junior research staff in experimental methodologies and potentially submitting training grants as PI. Related duties as required are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

PhD, MD or DO in biological sciences, chemistry or related field.
Animal models
Cell culture
Molecular biology techniques

Responsibilities

Evaluates, selects and applies standard scientific techniques and procedures while using judgment when necessary to adapt standard methods and techniques.
Contributes to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.
Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected, compiles and tabulates data, provides analysis of results.
Confers with lab staff regarding results obtained and receives suggestions for modification to procedures and interpretation of final data.
Presents research and journal articles in weekly scheduled meetings.
Presents abstracts or oral presentations at campus events and external conference opportunities.
Independently performs literature searches as outlined by the Principal Investigator.
Guides junior research staff in experimental methodologies.
May submit training grants as PI.
Performs related duties as required.
