About The Position

Provides administrative and logistical management for awarded projects and activities. This role is primarily responsible for program implementation and grants, operational and statistical management and may be required to travel to grant sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Approximately 5 -7 years of relevant work experience within a research environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communications, and interpersonal skills.

  • Master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages day-to-day operations at prime site and partner institutions.
  • Provides leadership for facilitating and expediting the research grant and contract application process.
  • Manages staff on all aspects of the grant process.
  • Provides recommendations to faculty on preferred sponsor application guidelines to allow the best opportunity for approval and awarding.
  • Prepares and reviews required grant and infrastructure deliverables on the behalf of PIs.
  • Manages existing projects to ensure milestone and goals are met, participates in strategic planning and assists with ensuring projects stay within budget and adhere to regulations and policies.
  • Chairs research committees with senior faculty to ensure alignment with local and national priorities and supports the Principal Investigator with strategic national research projects and presentations.
  • Oversees administrative support for research protocols and ensures protocols are submitted and renewed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • As needed, travels to local and/or international study sites to evaluate program, write progress reports and make recommendations for subsequent year program proposals.
  • May need to develop and plan domestic and international meetings between collaborators.
  • Manages the program’s day-to-day statistical and data management operations including data collection and entry, literature searches, requests for statistical support and tracking of effort against project estimates/budgets.
  • May design and manage the content of webpage(s) including regular updates and content reviews to ensure the information is current and relevant.
  • May be responsible for maintaining computing resources and planning for the growth, such as software licensing and computer upgrades.
  • May develop, maintain and/or disseminate departmental or functional specific policies and procedures.
  • May also be responsible for maintaining a departmental standard operating procedures (SOP) manual if available.
  • Represents the program at national and/or international meetings and conferences and other related events.
  • May be responsible for recruiting new community organizations, government entities, sponsors, etc. to expand community and research activities.
