Senior/Research Associate, Single Cell Technology

NewLimitSouth San Francisco, CA
$75,000 - $100,000

About The Position

NewLimit is a biotechnology company working to radically extend human healthspan. We’re developing medicines to treat age-related diseases by reprogramming the epigenome, a new therapeutic mechanism to restore regenerative potential in aged and diseased cells. We leverage functional genomics, pooled perturbation screening, and machine learning models to unravel the biology of epigenetic aging and disease using experiments of unprecedented scale. NewLimit is seeking a Senior/Research Associate with experience in biological sample processing and molecular biology to join our Single Cell Technology and Assay Development group. Our team develops and applies advanced molecular and bioanalytical technologies to support therapeutic discovery and development, spanning single-cell genomics, biomarker development, biodistribution, and bioanalytical method development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, molecular biology, or a related natural science or industry experience
  • 2+ years of work experience in a cell or molecular biology laboratory (academic or industry)
  • Experience with standard molecular biology workflows (e.g., nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, ELISA, NGS library construction, library quantification and QC)
  • Experience with necropsy, organ/tissue collection, primary tissue dissociation, mammalian cell culture and sample processing (e.g. single cell suspension preparation, nuclei isolation, fixation)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with in vivo animal handling
  • Experience with single cell genomics methods (such as 10x Genomics, Parse Bio, Perturb-seq/CROProp-seq or similar)
  • Experience troubleshooting or optimizing NGS workflows.
  • Experience with flow cytometry sorting for single-cell preparations.

Responsibilities

  • Measure the biodistribution, pharmacokinetics & efficacy of reprogramming medicines using traditional molecular assays as well as frontier genomics methods
  • Design and execute experiments involving the isolation, culture, and processing of cells, tissues, and organs for molecular profiling
  • Collaborate with our Epigenetic Editing team to perform large-scale, single cell perturbation experiments with custom chemistries
  • Perform state-of-the-art single cell profiling experiments to map epigenetic features of age-related disease and evaluate interventions

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Industry-leading paid time off (PTO) -- 20 days/year for all employees + holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • Meals and snacks on-site
