About The Position
Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets. We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Senior Research Associate I to join our dedicated Neuroscience research team. As a Senior Research Associate I, you will be a key player in executing experiments to support target discovery and validation for Parkinson’s disease. This role is well-suited for a candidate with a passion for scientific exploration.
Requirements
- Master’s degree with 2 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of related experience in Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated excellence in cell culture techniques.
- Demonstrated excellence in standard cell biology, biochemistry, and protein detection and quantification techniques (such as ELISA and MSD).
- Experience with high-content imaging analysis (Harmony, ImageJ, MetaXpress).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate research findings effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new experimental and analytical approaches.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with primary neuronal cultures, iPSC-derived cells, and/or complex co-culture model systems is a plus.
- Experience handling 96- and 384-well assay formats and/or automated liquid handling systems (e.g., Bravo, EL406) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Execute biochemical and cell-based assays to support Parkinson’s disease drug discovery.
- Conduct experiments using a variety of cell culture, molecular biology, and high-content imaging techniques.
- Participate in troubleshooting experiments, optimizing protocols, and addressing technical challenges to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive records of experiments, results, and protocols in adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the maintenance, procurement, and inventory management of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Uphold a culture of safety by strictly following laboratory protocols and promoting best practices in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Willingness to play a role in day-to-day activities supporting general laboratory tasks.
