About The Position

GHD's Construction Management Group is expanding and seeking a Senior Construction Manager with proven on-time and on-budget delivery capabilities. This role will provide construction phase support services to clients on multiple simultaneous projects, with construction values up to $250M each. The position can be located anywhere in the western US, with projects anticipated in California. The role involves contributing to planning, permitting, design, and procurement phases, offering involvement in all aspects of project planning and delivery. Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience as Construction Manager and/or Resident Engineer on multiple simultaneous construction projects.
  • Experience with web-based document management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • CCM certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

  • Construction Management for environmental construction, site remediation, civil construction, and decommissioning projects, primarily for an oil and gas client in the US West Region. Additional opportunities in water, transportation, coastal, environmental, and energy sectors.
  • Involvement in planning, permitting, design, and procurement phases of projects.
  • Develop, deliver, and manage budget plans and schedules for construction projects, monitoring budget progress and performing post-calculations.
  • Contribute to the design and creation of reporting strategies and templates, leading the execution of complex reports, identifying trends, and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Communicate directly with the client team.
  • Collaborate with the client development team and lead procurement efforts, including proposal and interview preparation.
  • Provide specialist professional advice on construction regulations, best practices, constructability, cost evaluations, and sequencing for environmental and civil construction projects.
  • Develop policies and processes, create best practices, set up case studies, and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in construction management and execution for the team.
  • Maintain external accreditations and an in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct complex feasibility studies on bid solicitation, including RFP and RFT project requirements, and review tender specifications.
  • Monitor and review performance and behaviors to identify and resolve noncompliance with organizational policies and relevant regulatory codes.
  • Manage important client relationships or oversee relationship management with a group of more transactional clients.
