About The Position

Embark on a transformative journey as a Senior Release Train Engineer VP – Digital Assets. At Barclays, our vision is clear –to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. In this role, you will join a team working at the ground floor of a 0-to-1 build. You will drive the execution and delivery of Barclays' Digital Assets Platform, coordinating engineering, product, architecture, operations, risk, legal, controls, compliance, and business stakeholders. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining delivery momentum, managing dependencies, removing blockers, and ensuring strategic initiatives such as institutional wallets, tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and digital asset infrastructure are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory expectations. If you are a delivery leader who can align teams, manage dependencies, and drive execution across a complex digital asset platform while balancing engineering priorities, business objectives, and regulatory requirements this is an ideal role for you.

Requirements

Bring proven experience leading complex technology delivery programs across multiple agile teams within regulated environments
Demonstrate expertise in Agile delivery, dependency management, release planning, execution tracking, and delivery governance
Be highly effective at driving alignment across engineering, product, architecture, risk, legal, controls, compliance, operations, and business teams
Be comfortable identifying execution risks, removing blockers, resolving dependencies, and maintaining delivery momentum across multiple workstreams
Possess considerable communication and stakeholder management skills, including preparing executive updates, governance materials, and leadership reporting

Nice To Haves

Understanding of digital asset platforms, institutional wallets, tokenized deposits, stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, and digital asset settlement
Experience managing vendor onboarding, third-party dependencies, procurement, and technology delivery partners
Knowledge of technology risk, operational resilience, regulatory controls, and audit readiness within financial services
Experience with workforce planning, budget tracking, delivery metrics, and program operating models
Confidence using AI-enabled productivity and planning tools to improve reporting, coordination, decision-making, and delivery efficiency

Responsibilities

Facilitate Agile Planning and Events: Accountable to ensure readiness across scope, content and logistics to deliver value through facilitation of team of teams events.
Support Planning Execution: Monitor planning execution, facilitate periodic synchronization events, and support cross-team backlog refinement to ensure strategic alignment to business goals.
Coach Cross-Team Agile: Provide coaching to teams and Scrum Masters on cross-team agile principles, team events, and practices
Mitigate Risks: Identify and track cross-team dependencies and risks, ensuring mitigation to support delivery of outcomes. Accountable to remove blockers.
Stakeholder Management: Facilitate stakeholder collaboration (e.g., business stakeholders, product teams, vendors), build trust with stakeholders, and drive stakeholder alignment
Champion Ways of Working: Champion Ways of Working and Agile culture, creating a safe and trusting environment for team members to share ideas and take appropriate risks
Coordinate Interlock and Dependency Management: Drive partnership and synchronization across teams to facilitate release management across stakeholder groups. Accountable for effective readiness and communication
Optimize Flow: Drive towards relentless improvement and ensure value delivery by monitoring delivery status, ensuring technology use and data quality, addressing bottlenecks, and serving as a point of escalation
Metrics and Reporting: Track and report key metrics to provide representation at required leadership and governance forums and to ensure continuous delivery improvement
