About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Release Train Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get partner closely with product owners, systems engineering, operations, and program leadership to ensure alignment between priorities, commitments, dependencies, and delivery objectives across the program.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience serving as a Release Train Engineer within a SAFe or large-scale Agile environment
  • B.S degree in relevant Engineering/CS/ STEM field and 12+ years’ experience, or M.S. degree in relevant Engineering/CS/ STEM field and 10 years of experience supporting large-scale Agile software, systems engineering, or operational programs
  • Experience leading PI planning activities, managing cross-team dependencies, and coordinating delivery across multiple Agile teams
  • Experience developing Agile execution metrics, delivery reporting, forecasting, and program health assessments
  • Experience utilizing Jira to support Agile planning, execution, reporting, workflow management, and technical baseline governance
  • Knowledge of ART operations, dependency management, risk management, and large-scale Agile execution
  • Active TS/SCI w/ poly clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting operationally critical systems, government programs, or mission-focused environments
  • Experience supporting development and operations (DevOps) or operations and maintenance (O&M) environments
  • Possession of excellent facilitation, communication, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • SAFe RTE Certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies, including PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt events.
  • Drive continuous improvement, process consistency, team accountability, and delivery predictability.
  • Manage Feature flow, Kanban metrics, dependencies, risks, and cross-team coordination.
  • Align technical teams, Product Management, Engineering, government leaders, and external suppliers.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the mission, systems, and technical domain.
  • Own and communicate ART health, status, objectives, and milestones through Jira and Confluence.
  • Remove impediments, support team needs, and coach Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and technical leads.
  • Build stakeholder alignment and confidently facilitate large-group forums.
  • Establish and maintain Agile execution standards, governance processes, and best practices across the program.
  • Coordinate Program Increment (PI) planning activities across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and teams.
  • Facilitate identification, management, and resolution of cross-team dependencies, execution risks, and delivery impediments.
  • Drive synchronization across development, integration, testing, deployment, operations, and sustainment organizations.
  • Ensure Agile execution data, workflows, and planning artifacts within Jira accurately reflect program status and commitments.
  • Support configuration management and governance of the technical execution baseline maintained within Jira.
  • Develop and maintain program-level execution metrics, delivery reporting, forecasting, and program health assessments.
  • Monitor team execution performance, capacity utilization, commitment achievement, and delivery trends.
  • Partner with product owners and systems engineering to ensure priorities and execution plans remain aligned with program objectives.
  • Facilitate Agile leadership forums, Scrum of Scrums, ART synchronization activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate significant execution risks, dependency concerns, schedule impacts, and resource constraints to program leadership.
