The Senior Release Manager is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for enterprise release governance and end-to-end operational execution across Allvue’s product portfolio. This role owns release lifecycle management from ideation through production deployment and stabilization, ensuring releases meet defined quality, security, compliance, and operational standards. Operating with high autonomy, the Senior Release Manager leads formal go-live readiness reviews and issues release approval recommendations in alignment with Engineering leadership. The role develops and measures enterprise release KPIs and provides release performance reporting to Engineering leadership and executive stakeholders. This position contributes to the continuous evolution of Allvue’s release governance framework in collaboration with peer-level release leaders and Engineering leadership. It does not independently define enterprise release strategy but plays a significant role in refining and scaling release standards within its operational scope.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to operate with high autonomy and senior-level operational decision authority in release governance.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in Release Management, Technical Program Management, or Engineering Operations.
  • Experience within fintech, capital markets, private equity technology, fund administration platforms, or regulated SaaS environments required.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional releases in regulated SaaS or fintech environments.
  • Strong systems-thinking capability connecting technical release controls to business and regulatory outcomes.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority and operate effectively in high-velocity environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required for executive-level reporting and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to translate technical release risks into business-relevant impact statements for senior leadership audiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of SDLC methodologies, Agile frameworks, and DevOps environments.
  • Working-to-advanced proficiency in CI/CD pipeline governance and cloud-native release environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong working knowledge of compliance frameworks including SOC 2, SOX, GDPR, and PCI.
  • Experience with production change management and enterprise risk mitigation practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Experience supporting AI/ML-enabled product releases preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive end-to-end release lifecycle governance from planning through deployment and post-release stabilization across multiple product initiatives.
  • Lead formal go-live readiness reviews and issue release approval recommendations in alignment with Engineering leadership governance standards.
  • Establish and continuously improve release management practices within assigned product domains, contributing collaboratively to broader framework evolution.
  • Ensure readiness criteria, quality gates, and risk controls are consistently applied prior to production deployment.
  • Integrate regulatory and compliance requirements (SOC 2, SOX, data privacy, financial controls) into release governance processes.
  • Maintain accountability for release documentation, traceability, validation standards, and audit readiness within assigned release scope.
  • Partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to support audit activities and regulatory reviews.
  • Identify systemic release risks and implement mitigation controls to preserve production stability and regulatory integrity.
  • Lead integrated release planning across Engineering, Product, Data Science, Security, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams.
  • Manage cross-product dependencies and resolve escalated conflicts impacting release timelines or risk posture.
  • Develop and measure enterprise release KPIs and provide release performance reporting to Engineering leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure Sales and Customer Success teams are operationally prepared for new product releases.
  • Conduct post-release retrospectives and implement process improvements to enhance release efficiency and reliability.
  • Support alignment between CI/CD pipeline execution and release governance standards in cloud-native environments.
  • Contribute to scalable release playbooks supporting AI-driven and traditional product initiatives.
