About The Position

Brillient Corporation is seeking a Senior Records Specialist/Declassification Analyst to support a federal records facility in the declassification of documents. This role involves conducting Agency Automatic Declassification reviews and referrals under Executive Order 13526. The selected candidate will perform timely, accurate, and legally compliant page-by-page declassification reviews of the client's 25-year-old permanent records held at the facility, ensuring adherence to EO 13526. They will also provide a substantive response to all referrals within 60 days, in compliance with EO 13526, section 3.3(d). This role refers all records containing information that originated from other agencies, or the disclosure of which would affect the interest or activities of another agency, to that agency for review. It also involves receiving documents from facility personnel to make referrals for declassification of Restricted Data and Formerly Restricted Data within and between federal agency components. The candidate will assist in meeting a minimum annual average of record reviews of 20,000 records, maintaining a 95 percent accuracy rate with zero security infractions, while identifying, locating, retrieving, and properly labeling records after review. Additional responsibilities include delivering a fully updated draft of the Declassification Guide (approximately 40-50 pages) and incorporating feedback, as well as updating a records declassification tracking system weekly and providing Monthly Status Reports.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a records management role
  • Must have passed the Department of Energy, Historical Records Restricted Data Reviewers (HRRDR) course, completed and in hand at time of application
  • Must be trained in recognizing restricted information
  • Deep understanding of Executive Order (EO) 13526, Classified National Security Information
  • Physical ability to perform duties in Cold Storage (35°F to 40°F) and Cool Storage (around 60°F)
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and ensure the integrity of the contents of each archival box remains intact

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing federal electronic records archive systems or similar records management systems
  • Previous experience working as part of a team consisting of government personnel and other contractors conducting analysis duties
