About The Position

Lex Products' Davie, Florida site is our dedicated military and defense manufacturing operation, building power distribution units and cable assemblies for defense customers. We are growing the military business fast, rebuilding our certifications, and bringing on new programs, on our way to becoming an all-military site. This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity to shape how a defense site runs. We need a hands-on quality leader to rebuild and own the Quality Management System at our Davie defense manufacturing site. You will lead us through AS9100 re-certification and QPL restoration, hold the line on compliance as we grow, and build a quality team and culture that earns the trust of our military customers. This is a build role, not a maintenance role.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of quality experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing, including 5+ years leading quality teams.
  • Proven experience implementing or restoring an AS9100 quality system and leading a site through registrar audits.
  • Experience working directly with defense customers, prime contractors, and auditors.
  • Strong working knowledge of corrective action, internal audits, MRB, first article inspection, and quality metrics.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined under ITAR.

Nice To Haves

  • Electronics, cable, harness, or power distribution manufacturing experience.
  • IPC J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 knowledge; IPC trainer certification a plus.
  • QPL or military specification qualification experience.
  • Familiarity with counterfeit parts prevention standards (such as AS5553).
  • ASQ CMQ/OE, AS9100 Lead Auditor, or equivalent.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the AS9100 Quality Management System and all related procedures.
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, prime contractors, auditors, and government representatives.
  • Run internal audits, management reviews, and material review board (MRB).
  • Lead root cause and corrective/preventive action; close customer escapes and audit findings.
  • Own first article inspection (AS9102) and final acceptance.
  • Lead supplier quality: qualification, performance monitoring, and corrective action.
  • Establish counterfeit parts prevention controls that meet defense requirements.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Contracts to hit quality goals.
  • Develop and coach the quality team and build a culture of ownership and accountability.
