About The Position

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for creating and executing detailed test plans for feature, integration, regression, certification, system-level testing, and production release validation. The role tests and certifies software applications and supporting infrastructure, develops and executes manual and automated test scripts, analyzes results, documents findings, and reports and resolves defects. The position participates in requirements analysis, test data strategy development, Agile and Scrum practices, project planning, work estimation, forecasting, and release scheduling. The engineer collaborates with Quality Engineer leads on manual testing and test automation frameworks, takes part in code reviews, and identifies and promotes testing methodologies, architectures, practices, and tools that improve test coverage. The role also requires communicating technical information, issues, and solutions to Quality Engineer leads and managers. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Remote work may be performed one day per week from a home office, provided the employee lives within normal commuting distance of the Goodlettsville, Tennessee office.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related IT or Engineering field.
Five years of experience using different manual and automation testing techniques and performing requirements analysis, test design, test execution, results analysis, and reporting.
Experience working with Java-based automation frameworks using Java and J2EE technologies such as Spring, Struts, Hibernate, and JSP, and designing and building tools or utilities.
Experience testing APIs, web UI, and desktop applications.
Experience with test automation tools such as Rest Assured, Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber.
Knowledge of JavaScript-based web UI automation frameworks such as Cypress or TestCafe.
Experience with a scripting language such as Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Experience with relational data stores such as Oracle, MySQL, or DB2 and NoSQL data stores such as Cassandra or Elasticsearch.
Experience with Agile management tools such as Jira and collaboration tools such as Confluence.
Experience with Maven, Ant, or Gradle build tools and source control tools such as GitLab.
Knowledge of Behavior Driven, Data Driven, Keyword Driven, and Hybrid test automation frameworks.
Experience or knowledge of mocking frameworks such as WireMock or Hoverfly.
Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Deployment Pipeline (CI/CD) flow.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must live within normal commuting distance of the Goodlettsville, Tennessee office.

Responsibilities

Participate in Agile Methodology, Scaled Agile, and Scrum ceremonies, as well as project planning.
Collaborate with Quality Engineer leads to implement manual testing and test automation frameworks.
Participate in code reviews, work estimation, forecasting, and release scheduling.
Understand internal and external requirements for systems being validated.
Identify, adapt, and promote testing methodologies, architectures, best practices, and tools to improve test coverage.
Share technical information and communicate technical issues and solutions to Quality Engineer leads and managers.
