About The Position

The Senior Quality Control Technician is part of the Laboratory Equipment Division quality team at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Marietta, Ohio facility. The role performs and coordinates quality inspections and testing to verify that products meet company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations. It also supports investigations, documentation, technician training, and improvements to quality-control processes.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or testing in a manufacturing environment.
Experience reading specifications, drawings, work instructions, or test methods.
Strong attention to detail and clear written documentation skills.
Ability to use inspection tools and basic computer systems.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
Ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials.

Nice To Haves

Technical coursework or an associate degree.
Familiarity with quality systems, nonconformance records, and corrective action processes.

Responsibilities

Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using approved procedures and specifications.
Perform routine tests, measurements, and sampling, and document results accurately and on time.
Review inspection records and test data for completeness and accuracy.
Identify nonconforming materials or products, document findings, and escalate issues.
Support investigations into defects, deviations, and customer complaints, including identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Maintain testing equipment, inspection tools, and work areas, and report calibration or maintenance needs.
Train and assist QC technicians on procedures, equipment, and documentation practices.
Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Follow applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
