About The Position

The QC Technician inspects and tests materials and finished products at various stages of manufacturing to ensure compliance with applicable laws, industry codes and standards, and company and customer specifications. The role supports quality control across a contract manufacturing operation that fabricates custom enclosures and skids and performs mechanical and electrical integration. The position also involves maintaining inspection documentation and calibrated equipment, analyzing test data, reporting deviations, and improving quality control methods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Solid understanding of measuring, inspection, and test equipment.
• 1–3 years of quality control experience.
• A minimum of 2–5 years of inspection and/or production experience in the metals fabrication industry.
• Visual weld and welding inspection experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.
• Strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus; minimum required visual acuity of 20/20, corrected or uncorrected.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain inspection reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and company standards and specifications.
• Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
• Perform inspections across all stages of production.
• Prepare and maintain test data for review.
• Evaluate data and draft reports, noting relevant deviations from existing standards.
• Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
• Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
