Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

RIVO HoldingsSan Diego, CA
Onsite

About The Position

RIVO is excited to hire two Quality Assurance Engineers to build and own the quality discipline for our in‑house engineering team. This is a hands‑on role for experienced QA professionals who enjoy shaping process, improving release confidence, and raising the quality bar across a live production environment. These roles go beyond test execution. You’ll help define testing standards, documentation practices, automation strategy, and release‑readiness discipline while partnering closely with Product, Business Systems Analysis, Engineering, DevOps, and Database teams. You may also support other internal applications as needed. If you are ready to build something meaningful —to bring structure, clarity, and confidence to software delivery where it matters most—and have real ownership, a voice in how quality is defined, and the ability to make a visible impact across the organization — Apply Today!

Requirements

  • Senior‑level experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing in a production environment
  • Strong hands‑on experience with manual, regression, and release testing
  • Experience establishing QA structure and standards where formal process was limited
  • Practical experience with test automation, API testing, and data validation (SQL)
  • Comfort testing live systems where stability and backward compatibility matter
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and clear written communication
  • A proactive, ownership‑oriented mindset—someone who’s comfortable asking hard questions before release

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and document release validation across multiple environments
  • Build and maintain test plans, test cases, regression coverage, and release checklists
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define acceptance criteria and validate expected behavior
  • Test complex business workflows, integrations, APIs, and data accuracy
  • Design and expand automated test coverage for high‑risk and high‑impact flows
  • Log, track, and validate defects with clear severity, impact, and retest evidence
  • Maintain clear QA documentation and test evidence to support release readiness
  • Help establish scalable QA practices that improve software stability and release confidence
