About The Position

CGI is seeking a Senior Python Developer with 4+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating applications and platform capabilities on Kubernetes/OpenShift. The ideal candidate is proficient in Python, experienced with CI/CD pipeline development, bitbucket, SQL. You will collaborate with engineering, platform, SRE, and security partners to automate delivery workflows, strengthen reliability and controls, and enable teams to ship software safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Python (advanced proficiency)
  • Pandas & NumPy (data manipulation and numerical computing)
  • Git (version control and collaboration)
  • Agile/Scrum (delivery methodology)
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Concepts
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Python and automation.
  • Experience with job scheduling/orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Autosys).
  • Solid understanding of API development and integration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • PySpark (distributed data processing)
  • SQL (database querying and optimization)
  • Exposure to front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) is a plus.
  • Background in regulated industries (finance) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support workflow automation solutions and job orchestration frameworks.
  • Lead the migration of legacy scheduling platforms to modern, automated solutions.
  • Develop and integrate APIs to support automation and orchestration.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) where applicable.
  • Monitor, optimize, and scale workflows for performance, reliability, and resilience.
  • Contribute to application design ensuring high availability and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Data Engineering, Product Owners) in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Prepare technical documentation and maintain workflows in JIRA and Confluence.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentoring for team members to ensure best practices.
  • Deliver projects on-time, within scope, and on budget, resolving risks and dependencies proactively.
