About The Position
This is a full-time Senior Psychiatric Technician position with the Atrium Health Resource Team/Float Pool, working day shifts. The role involves observing, reporting, and documenting patient behavior changes, interacting therapeutically with patients, and participating in various patient activities and groups. The technician will also monitor patients in seclusion/restraints and contribute to unit-based process improvement. The position requires working in patient care areas with potentially challenging patients and involves physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, and reaching.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- CPR certificate required

Responsibilities
- Observes, reports, and documents signs, symptoms or changes in patient behavior to charge nurse
- Interacts with patients therapeutically
- Assists, initiates, and participates in social and recreational activities, group therapy, patient teaching groups, and other group activities
- Makes rounds on assigned patients as ordered
- Monitors patients in seclusion/restraints and documents observations
- Participates in unit-based process improvement activities
- Documents observations in the clinical record
