About The Position

A highly proactive and analytical professional, the Senior Prospect Management Analyst transforms prospect data into insights that drive fundraising effectiveness. As a trusted thought partner to frontline fundraisers and advancement leadership, this role takes ownership of projects from conception through execution, using data to inform process improvements, donor lifecycle movement, and decision making related to pipeline and portfolios. Reporting to the Associate Director, Prospect Management, the analyst possesses the knowhow to translate data insights into clear, concise recommendations. The role identifies trends and gaps within prospect populations, analyses portfolio composition and pipeline health to inform prospect assignments, and champions data best practices. In addition, the role also supports initiatives such as campaign planning and performance forecasting. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, an excellent communicator, and understands the importance of data in fundraising success. This position analyzes and optimizes fundraising portfolios and prospect pipelines through advanced data analysis of various datasets to ensure strong capacity alignment and pipeline health. This position partners closely with frontline fundraisers, and provides data-driven recommendations for prospect assignment, movement, and strategy across all stages of the fundraising lifecycle. This position also supports the development of dashboards and reporting tools, promotes best practices in prospect data usage, and supports strategic initiatives such as campaign planning and performance forecasting.

Requirements

  • Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
  • Trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
  • More than 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in data, trend analysis and reporting considered an asset.
  • Experience with data management including business glossaries, data catalogues, metadata, and principle and reference data management considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a non-profit office considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of relationship building, fundraising and stewardship considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards and/or guidelines considered an asset.
  • Experience with software and web technologies considered an asset (e.g., ServiceNow, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), other software packaging, etc.).
  • Experience in risk management practices considered an asset (e.g., conducting risk assessments, Financial Risk, Insurance Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Project Risk, Market Risk, Technology Risk including information Security and/or Cybersecurity, etc.).
  • Experience in program analysis and reporting considered an asset.
  • Experience working at a post-secondary education institution considered an asset.
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of concepts and principles in a specialist field that is typically acquired through a combination of advanced professional or academic qualifications and/or significant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes fundraising portfolios and pipelines to assess capacity alignment, coverage gaps, prospect movement, and overall health, using data modeling and screening results, and internal & external datasets.
  • Partners with frontline fundraisers to optimize portfolios by prioritizing high-value prospects and recommending strategic additions, removals, and reassignments aligned with capacity, inclination, and fundraising stage.
  • Provides data-driven recommendations to support strategic prospect assignment and reassignment, ensuring effective alignment between prospect capacity and fundraiser portfolios.
  • Develops and maintains prospect pipeline analytics that track giving, activity, and movement across identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship stages.
  • Consults on prospect intelligence dashboards and reporting tools to support analysis of prospect distribution, capacity alignment, pipeline growth, and fundraising performance.
  • Champions strategic, high-integrity use of prospect data, incorporating emerging philanthropic trends, leveraging external data sources, assessing data reliability, and promoting best practices through database training and guidance.
  • Drives data and process improvements to strengthen data organization, accessibility, and use in support of evolving fundraising objectives.
  • Supports long-term strategic initiatives such as campaign planning, goal setting, pipeline integrity, and fundraising projections through collaboration and analysis.
  • Translates complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
