About The Position

The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University is seeking a Senior Proposal Development Manager for its Major and Strategic Initiatives team. This role is crucial for developing proposals to support innovation-related strategic initiatives, including multi-million dollar projects. The position involves bringing together capabilities across the faculty and partnering with external stakeholders to achieve research and education objectives. The Faculty is a leading institution in health research and education, ranking among the top 30 universities globally for clinical and health.

Requirements

  • Extensive relevant experience, preferably in a biomedical research, clinical research, government, health service, university or other industry-related environment
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience developing successful complex proposals and business cases, preferably for multiple stakeholder and/or multi-million dollar initiatives
  • Developed conceptual, analytical and evaluation skills, with the ability to develop creative and commercially sound solutions to complex problems and business requirements with external partners
  • Superior written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to articulate complex or technical concepts in various formats and the ability to liaise, mediate and influence at all levels

Responsibilities

  • Manage successful strategic projects and proposals with significant autonomy, including conversion of new multimillion-dollar funding opportunities by managing, writing and conceptualising written proposal submissions to the external market, in consultation with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Identify interdisciplinary capabilities across the Faculty and capabilities within other faculties, including forming, connecting and leading academic teams (researchers) in proposal development to respond to emerging innovation priorities and agendas
  • Prepare specialised communications including reports, correspondence, recommendations and advice for senior management and/or external audiences on highly-complex issues with a sector-wide or global impact
