About The Position

The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for performing financial analysis and interpretation of property financial reports, ensuring accurate financial information for properties under their portfolio, including those under capital event status. This role involves daily bank reconciliations, monthly financial statement preparation, and collaboration with property management teams. The accountant will also conduct account analysis, maintain balance sheet schedules, assist with audits and tax preparation, and manage accounts receivable and payable. Additionally, the position requires calculating intercompany charge-outs and performing critical reviews of financial data to recommend improvements. The role also includes preparing and remitting investor distributions and assuming additional related responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • BBA in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in property accounting or public accounting
  • Proficient in financial report interpretation and analysis
  • Experience with account reconciliation and analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented, deadline-driven individual with strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of US GAPP and financial processes
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with accounting software, such as Workday and/or ResMan is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis and interpretation of property financial reports
  • Ensure accurate financial information for the properties under their portfolio, including properties under capital event status
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies
  • Complete timely and daily bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and submitting tickets promptly for resolution of any discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties
  • Collaborate with property management teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions
  • Conduct account analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain balance sheet backup schedules
  • Assist with annual audits and tax preparation
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and remit investor distributions
  • Calculate intercompany charge-outs
  • Perform critical review of self and others financials to make recommendations for improvement
  • Assume additional related responsibilities as required
